MSG Game 3 ticket prices shatter NBA records, rival Super Bowl
Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, scheduled for Monday at Madison Square Garden, is tracking toward the most expensive ticketed sporting event on record. The get-in price on at least one major secondary market platform had reached $9,990 at the time of publication, with only two listings available below $10,000. The cheapest available floor-level seat on a second platform was listed at $13,115.
The Knicks are playing in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 and are chasing their first championship since 1973 - a drought of 53 years. Game 3 on Monday marks the first NBA Finals contest hosted at Madison Square Garden this millennium. The Knicks won Game 1 on the road in San Antonio, and President Donald Trump has said he will attend Monday's game.
According to figures cited by the New York Post, which attributed the data to ticketing platform SeatGeek, the average resale price for Knicks home games during this Finals series - Games 3, 4 and a potential Game 6 - stands at $7,149. That figure surpasses the previous NBA record of $1,965, set during the 2024 Finals in Dallas. Only Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024, a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, recorded a higher average secondary-market ticket price at $10,497, making the current Knicks home games the second most expensive ticketed sporting event by that measure.
The Knicks' Game 1 victory in San Antonio triggered a sharp secondary-market price increase heading into the Garden. Should New York secure Game 2 on the road and return home with a 2-0 series lead, market prices could rise further still. Game 2 tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET before the series shifts to New York.
