Spiranac Backs Woods After DUI Arrest, Treatment Plans

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac offered public support for Tiger Woods following his DUI arrest in Jupiter Island, Florida, and his announcement to step away from golf for treatment. Spiranac posted on X that fans root for Woods as a person amid his challenges, hoping he receives help without public backlash. Woods pleaded not guilty to the charges and demanded a jury trial.

The arrest followed a rollover crash on Friday, March 27, 2026, where deputies observed signs of impairment in the 15-time major champion, including bloodshot eyes and lethargic movements. Authorities found two hydrocodone pills in his pocket after the incident, in which Woods admitted to distraction from his phone and radio. He faces charges of driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a blood alcohol test.

Woods released a statement acknowledging the situation's seriousness and committing to treatment for his health and recovery. This marks his second DUI arrest, the first in 2017 when found asleep behind the wheel after taking prescription medication. He also suffered severe leg injuries in a 2021 rollover crash requiring surgeries, and recently underwent back and Achilles procedures before returning to competition in The Golf League this month.

Woods will miss the Masters Tournament next week, as confirmed by Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley. He had aimed to compete while preparing for the U.S. Senior Open in early July.
