Amorim Says Frustrated Pulisic Set To Return For AC Milan

AC Milan coach Ruben Amorim said Friday that Christian Pulisic is "angry" about not having played a single minute through the club's first three matches this season, though the American forward is expected to feature this weekend. Pulisic has been named among the substitutes in all three games but has yet to take the field.

Amorim attributed the winger's absence to a bone bruise and microfracture in his right tibia, an injury that surfaced after the United States was eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. "He is angry because he has had zero minutes so far and I like that in my players," Amorim said, adding that Pulisic suffered a further knock during his first training session back. "Don't forget that he had an injury in the summer and then in the first training session he took a knock and had to stop." live futsal betting

Milan have posted two wins and a draw to open the campaign under Amorim, who replaced Massimiliano Allegri this season, without any contribution from Pulisic. The 27-year-old is entering his fourth season at the club after starting 32 games in his debut year and 29 in his second, before making 30 appearances but starting just 18 last season. Amorim, a two-time Primeira Liga manager of the year who began his coaching career in 2017, said he would not disrupt his current lineup simply to accommodate a marquee player. "I will not take out those who are doing well just to put in a 'name': this is my way of managing the group and I will die with these principles," he said. "Pulisic is very important for me... you have to understand the context and my history to understand why I make certain choices."

Amorim indicated Pulisic will see game time this weekend, though the extent remains undecided. "You will see him tomorrow, I don't know whether from the start or during the game. I think he will play a few minutes," he said, noting that a congested schedule after the international break - eight weeks with three matches a week - will require Pulisic to shoulder a heavier workload once fully fit.
